Every trailer dealership can host an open house or customer appreciation event. But can every trailer store partner with the nation's Gold Standard towing representative and create a day that feeds and educates people from all over the trades who own a trailer?
Well, they could… but they don't.
Therefore, we would like to welcome you to Minnesota's largest trailer event at Central Trailer Sales.
The real crime here is that if you are reading this post, the event has already passed and you missed a great day at our Minnesota trailer store. Now you need to join our email list and like us on Facebook so you never make that mistake again.
Until then, you will have to make do with this blog to tell you all the fun we had.
This year, our team at Central Trailer Sales hosted our Trailer Safety Week event at the trailer dealership in Jordan, Minnesota, just south of Minneapolis. Unfortunately, this year the event took place in April and the Minnesota spring brought us an ice storm that left a thin cover of the frozen stuff across the entire state.
But blue collar men and women (especially Minnesotans) have no problem driving in a little weather, and the event was a success.
The day started with small business owners from all types of trades rolling in for coffee and donuts and moseying around our shop, decked to the nines with some of our most impressive units from NATM compliant manufacturers like ATC, Polar King, Load Trail, Diamond C, and much more. Mid-morning, the presentations began.
This year, we brought out Minnesota State Patrol officers certified in load and trailer inspections to give a brief tie-down presentation and answer everyone's questions on MN state trailer laws and best practices. After some great conversations and a few witty jokes sent back and forth, the presentation concluded and the real fun began. At the tail end of the trailer safety presentation, the garage door for the shop opened up and the BBQ trailer holding our lunch rolled in.
Lunch at the dealership was a full blown hog roast, pig included. This spectacle brings out the curiosity in everyone, and our guests' phones tend to eat first as they take photos of their unique meal before devouring the goods. The fun didn't stop there.
Because of the weather, our original plan to have a facility tour was a bust. However, we came up with a great way to get our guests around the shop to check out some great trailers. In the spirit of spring, we hid eggs with prizes in them for our guests to find.
Let me be the first to tell you, grown men still like Easter egg hunts if getting a free hat is involved!
2026 Trailer Safety Week Event Recap
The day ended with giving away an amazing hitch from Hyper Hitches, quite a few trailers sold, and everyone's questions answered, prepping them right before the warm, busy summer season.
Our hope with this event is that people take the time to realize that towing a trailer, even a safe one, can become unsafe quickly. Taking precautions to eliminate possible disasters is the best thing you can do for yourself and others who share the road with you! If you made it to the Trailer Safety Week event this year or the year before, shout out to you! Thank you for coming. And if you didn't, don't worry — we will be back with more events. Until then, you can check out https://www.trailersafetyweek.com/ for more resources.
